The Mapping Wall
A life rarely unfolds in a straight line. Memories, relationships, objects, places, choices, and turning points may initially seem disconnected.
The pieces were never truly separate. We simply needed a way to see them together.
When a Building Disappears, What Happens to Its Stories?
This sculpture depicts UK council housing being demolished and carried away for recycling. The physical materials may be reused—but the lives held within those walls can easily be lost. Generations may have called these buildings home. Each family left traces: relationships, routines, hardships, celebrations, and memories attached to the place.
A building can be treated as rubbish. The lives lived inside it cannot.
The sculpture demonstrates the heart of the Studio’s work: looking beyond a visible object to recover the lives and meaning held within it.
